Hinge Health provides personalised digital health treatments for people with knee and back pain - to help you enjoy what you love: be it football, hiking, or just playing with your kids. 

We're constantly improving our programs, and every so often we offer free access as we trial upgrades. This is your opportunity to get access to our fantastic program entirely free of charge.

Our 12-week back pain program is based on care recommendations by organisations like the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. Of the 100's of people that have gone through the program, the average participant reduces their pain by more than 50% at the end of the 12 weeks, and builds healthy habits that last for years to come. What’s more, 90% of people at risk of surgery reduce their need for these invasive procedures

Exercise therapy

Our sensor technology guides you through a personalized routine of stretching and strengthening exercises, based on expert recommendations - all in the comfort of your own home. Every activity is logged, every goal documented. You'll be able to track your progress over time and aim for ever higher goals.

Personal coaching

You’ll get a dedicated Hinge Health coach to guide and support you over the 12 weeks. You’ll start with a one-on-one call, in which your coach will get to know you and your goals. Throughout the program your coach will take care of you and be in constant contact, tailoring the program to your needs and ensuring you stay on track to meet your goals. 

A multifaceted approach

Unlike others, we strongly believe that we cannot use a single approach for everyone. Research shows that a multi-faceted and personalised approach is most effective in managing chronic back pain, so we provide the full toolkit: exercise therapy, interactive education, cognitive behavioral therapy, personal coaching and social support to get you back to the activities you love.

The Science

Knee and back pain are incredibly common, affecting almost all of us at some point in our lives. When these problems keep returning, they can have a severe impact on your quality of life.


In fact, all major medical bodies recommend a thorough program of such non-invasive or “conservative” treatment before surgery is ever contemplated. In addition to this, there is very little disagreement in the medical community about what this conservative care needs to consist of:  [3,4]

  • Information, to allow you as the patient to better understand the condition, and how to manage it.
  • Frequent stretching and strengthening exercises, combined with more general physical activity.
  • Help with weight loss, where this may help unload the knee or back.
  • Support to address the mental and social difficulties almost always associated with chronic pain.

Results from an effective program that contains all of the above can be extremely positive: Different studies have shown pain reduction as good as, or even better than that achieved by opioids (strong, addictive painkillers), a four-times smaller likelihood of needing knee or back surgery, and twice the increase in physical activity and rate of return to work seen through less sophisticated care. At Hinge Health we regularly see our remotely delivered programs achieve results as good as the expensive and inconvenient in-person care that these studies involved.
